Please note that there will be no Inspirational and Prayer service this Thursday, December 26.

On Sunday, January 5, we will commemorate the birthday of Paramahansa Yogananda with a service held here at the 4-H Educational Center, beginning at 10 am and ending at approximately 11:15 am. Please bring a flower to this service as a symbol of your devotion, and a donation may be given as a symbol of your loyalty to the work of Self Realization Fellowship. The Sunday reading service will be held from 11:30-12:30.

Our next 3-hour meditation service for January will be held on Tuesday, January 7, in the Greenfield barn chapel, beginning at 6:30 pm with Energization Exercises and ending at 9:30 pm. The chapel opens at 6:15.

On Saturday, January 11, we will have a special meditation in honor of Paramahansa Yogananda, beginning at 10:00 am and ending at 4:00 pm, also at the 4-H Educational Center. Please bring a fruit as a devotional offering, and a donation in a white envelope may be offered.

Next Saturday, December 14, we will have our All-Day Christmas Meditation, from 10:00 am to 5:30 pm, here at the 4-H Educational Center. Please bring a fruit as a devotional offering, and a donation in a white envelope may be offered. Please make note of the following points:

  • Please be sure to come early, and be prepared to stay at least until the intermission. No one will be permitted to enter the chapel once the meditation has begun. Arriving early will also give you time to become comfortably settled and calm before the meditation begins.
  • You may bring a meditation armrest, if you wish to practice the Aum Meditation Technique during the meditation.
  • If you have a cough or cold, please meditate at home, rather than attend the all-day service. Paramahansa Yogananda insisted on scrupulous observance of this practice when he conducted the Christmas meditation.

Next Sunday, December 1, we are sponsoring a one-time collection of food, clothing, and household items to assist needy families and individuals in our community. Donations can include toiletry items such as soap, shampoo, deodorant, toothpaste, and so on, and donations of canned goods and other non-perishable food items in cardboard and plastic containers are also welcome. Again, this is a one-time collection event, so please remember to bring your items next Sunday.

In addition to general road and weather conditions, we are also subject to the closing policies of the 4-H Educational Center.

We would like to remind everyone to help contribute to the atmosphere of stillness and devotion by maintaining silence when entering the chapel, as well as at the close of service, prior to leaving the chapel. By doing so, we continue the peace we achieve during meditation.
