Our next Inspirational and Prayer service will be held this Thursday, February 12, beginning at 7:30 pm, in the barn chapel on the Greenfield grounds. The chapel opens at 7:15.

Next Sunday, February 15, we will have a fellowship gathering immediately following the Sunday service, featuring a hot lunch with gluten-free and vegan options, dessert, and refreshments, and everyone is invited to attend. If you would like to contribute a dish to the menu, please see Cay Larue or call her at 571-594-2983.

Our next 3-hour meditation service will be held on Tuesday, February 17, in the Greenfield barn chapel, beginning at 6:30 pm with Energization Exercises and ending at 9:30 pm. The chapel opens at 6:15.

We are continuing to collect donations of food, clothing, and household items for needy families and individuals, including toiletry items, baby powder and diapers, and donations of canned goods and other non-perishable food items in cardboard and plastic containers. Warm coats and other outdoor clothing are also in need. We will be continuing this service throughout the year, and you may leave your donations in the labeled containers in the room off the south end of the foyer.

We would like to remind everyone to help contribute to the atmosphere of stillness and devotion by maintaining silence when entering the chapel, as well as at the close of service, prior to leaving the chapel. By doing so, we continue the peace we achieve during meditation.

Tomorrow, Monday, January 5, we will commemorate the birthday of Paramahansa Yogananda with a service beginning at 7 pm and ending at approximately 8:30 pm. Please bring a flower to this service as a symbol of your devotion, and a donation may be given as a symbol of your loyalty to the work of Self Realization Fellowship. After the service, we will have a period of fellowship with cake and tea to celebrate Master’s birthday.

Please note that our 3-hour meditation on Tuesday, January 6, has been cancelled.

Next Saturday, January 10, we will have a special meditation in honor of Paramahansa Yogananda, beginning at 10:00 am and ending at 4:00 pm. Please bring a fruit as a devotional offering, and a donation in a white envelope may be offered.

  • Please be sure to come early, and be prepared to stay at least until the intermission. No one will be permitted to enter the chapel once the meditation has begun. Arriving early will also give you time to become comfortably settled and calm before the meditation begins.
  • You may bring a meditation armrest, if you wish to practice the Aum Meditation Technique during the meditation.
  • If you have a cough or cold, please meditate at home rather than attend the meditation service.

  • Please be sure to come early, and be prepared to stay at least until the intermission. No one will be permitted to enter the chapel once the meditation has begun. Arriving early will also give you time to become comfortably settled and calm before the meditation begins.
  • You may bring a meditation armrest, if you wish to practice the Aum Meditation Technique during the meditation.

There will be a gift exchange – please bring a simple gift in the five to ten dollar range; women, bring a gift for a woman; men, bring a gift for a man. Please ensure that the gifts are clearly marked. For those of you who would like to bring food for the potluck meal, we have a sign-up sheet available on the free literature table where you can sign up for what you would like to bring. All are invited to attend.

We are happy to announce that tea will be available at the end of each Sunday service. Herbal teas are available, and at the current time the tea cart will be in the room off the foyer to your left as you leave the chapel. Please remember that no food or drink is allowed in the chapel.

We are aware that there is an interest in resuming men’s one-day retreats. To assess the level of potential participation we ask that men who are interested please complete a brief survey and return by November 30. You can pick up a survey at the free literature table in the foyer and return the survey to a marked folder that is also on the free literature table.
