Our next 3-hour meditation service for September will be held this Tuesday, September 3, in the Greenfield barn chapel, beginning at 6:30 pm with Energization Exercises and ending at 9:30 pm. The chapel opens at 6:15.

Please note that the Greenfield grounds will be closed during the day on Tuesday, September 3, but the gate will be open for the 3-hour meditation service.

Next Sunday, September 8, our Sunday services will be held at the Bethel Community Center. The meditation service begins at 10:30 am and the reading service begins at 11:30 am.

On Saturday, September 21, everyone is invited to attend a work party at Greenfield, beginning at 9:00 am with a brief meditation, followed by work activities. The work party concludes with a light lunch served at 12:30 pm, and both indoor and outdoor tasks are available for all levels of skill and physical ability. Please take advantage of this opportunity for service and fellowship by signing up for the work party if you plan to attend so we can prepare the activities in advance. A sign-up sheet is available on the free literature table, or you can call the Greenfield retreat line at 540-635-5066.

We will be offering a conducted weekend retreat led by SRF monastics at the 4-H Educational Center from Friday, September 27 to Sunday September 29. Registration is required; visit our website, srfgreenfield.org, and click on the Retreats menu at the top of the page; then click Conducted Weekend Retreats to fill out the online reservation form. The suggested donation for the conducted weekend retreat is $125.

We are pleased to offer a light breakfast and a hot lunch during the retreat on both Saturday and Sunday. Two meal options are available – a vegetarian meal or a vegan, gluten-free meal.

The on-line form indicates the meal times, the menu, and the suggested donations for the meals. If you would like to have one or more of these meals prepared for you, please make the appropriate selections during registration. Please note that Tuesday, September 17, is the final day to make reservations for these meals.

Otherwise, registration for the retreat up is open up to the time of the event, and you can also register on-site.

Our Sunday services we will be held here at the 4-H Educational Center through most of the remaining year. However, due to schedule conflicts, we will be returning to the Bethel Community Center for some services in September and November. Our celebration of Janmashtami, the birth of Bhagavan Krishna, will be held here at the 4-H Educational Center tomorrow evening, Monday, August 26, with a service beginning at 6:30 pm and ending at approximately 8:00 pm. Please bring a flower to this service as a symbol of your devotion, and a donation may be given as a symbol of your loyalty to the work of Self Realization Fellowship.

Our next Inspirational and Prayer service for August will be held this Thursday, August 29, in the barn chapel on the Greenfield grounds.  The service begins at 7:30 pm and the chapel opens at 7:15.

If you like to visit Greenfield, the grounds are open from 9 am to 5 pm Tuesday through Sunday. You are welcome to walk the grounds and enjoy the gardens and meditation benches, or stroll around the ponds. A handicapped-access public restroom is available on the grounds for visitors’ use. Please note that the cottages and their porches are for the use of retreatants staying on the grounds, and we ask that you respect their privacy while on the grounds.

Although Thursday, July 25, is also Mahavatar Babaji Commemoration Day, we will instead celebrate this event on Sunday, July 28 at the Bethel Community Center, beginning at 10:30 am and ending at approximately 11:45 am. Please bring a flower to this service as a symbol of your devotion, and a donation may be given as a symbol of your loyalty to the work of Self Realization Fellowship.

Following the commemoration service, our reading service will begin at 12:00 pm and end at 1:00 pm.

We would like to ask everyone to help contribute to the atmosphere of stillness and devotion by maintaining silence when entering the chapel, as well as at the close of service, prior to leaving the chapel. By doing so, we continue the peace we achieve during meditation, both for ourselves and for others.

Please note that lunch reservations are no longer being accepted.
