Our next Inspirational and Prayer service will be held this Thursday, December 11, beginning at 7:30 pm, in the barn chapel on the Greenfield grounds. The chapel opens at 7:15.
Next Saturday, December 13, we will have our All-Day Christmas Meditation, from 10:00 am to 5:30 pm. Please bring a fruit as a devotional offering, and a donation in a white envelope may be offered. Please make note of the following points:
- Please be sure to come early, and be prepared to stay at least until the intermission. No one will be permitted to enter the chapel once the meditation has begun. Arriving early will also give you time to become comfortably settled and calm before the meditation begins.
- You may bring a meditation armrest, if you wish to practice the Aum Meditation Technique during the meditation.
- If you have a cough or cold, please meditate at home, rather than attend the all-day service. Paramahansa Yogananda insisted on scrupulous observance of this practice when he conducted the Christmas meditation.
For additional guidance on preparing for this service, please see the informational sheet Instructions for Devotees, available on the free literature table.
On Sunday, December 14, a fellowship gathering will be held immediately after the service with a potluck meal and a visit from Santa. There will be a gift exchange – please bring a simple gift in the five to ten dollar range; women, bring a gift for a woman; men, bring a gift for a man. Please ensure that the gifts are clearly marked. For those of you who would like to bring food for the potluck meal, we have a sign-up sheet available on the free literature table where you can sign up for what you would like to bring. All are invited to attend.
Our next 3-hour meditation service will be held on Tuesday, December 16, in the Greenfield barn chapel, beginning at 6:30 pm with Energization Exercises and ending at 9:30 pm. The chapel opens at 6:15.
Please note that no Inspirational and Prayer service will be held the evening of Thursday, Dec. 25.
Donations of food, clothing, and household items are welcome for needy families and individuals, including toiletry items, baby powder and diapers, and donations of canned goods and other non-perishable food items in cardboard and plastic containers. Warm coats and other outdoor clothing are also in need. You may leave your donations in the room off the south end of the foyer through the holiday season.
