From the Spiritual Diary, April 28, Happiness: Do not think that a little joy in silence is enough. Joy is more than that. For instance, suppose you are going to be punished by not being allowed to go to sleep when you are desperately in need of rest, and suddenly someone says: "All right, you may go to sleep now." Think of the joy you would feel just before falling asleep. Multiply that one million times! Still it would not describe the joy felt in communion with God. - Paramahansa Yogananda, SRF Lessons

Welcome to Greenfield Retreat

The Self-Realization Fellowship Greenfield Retreat in Front Royal, Virginia is a branch of Self-Realization Fellowship, a worldwide religious organization founded by Paramahansa Yogananda in 1920 to teach scientific techniques of meditation that will lead to a direct, personal relationship with God. These techniques are available in a series of lessons sent to your home from our International Headquarters in Los Angeles, California. See the About section for more information on SRF and Greenfield, including the days and times when Greenfield is open to visitors.

About Meditation

Paramahansa Yogananda said "Meditation is the ability to take the mind away from every object of distraction and put it upon God alone". See Greenfield's guidance for meditation, and the Learn to Meditate page on the Self-Realization Fellowship website.
