We are celebrating the Christmas spirit by providing Christmas gifts for the residents of the House of Hope, a local shelter for homeless men, as well as homemade gifts for residents of a local assisted living home. Your donations toward the purchase of these gifts are welcome, and they can be left in specially marked donation boxes in the dining room. All gifts will be given in Master's name, which helps people recognize SRF as a contributing member of the Front Royal community.
Please note that our long meditation service this Tuesday, December 5, will begin at 5:30 pm with Energization Exercises and will end at 9:30 pm. Devotees are welcome to join at 6:30 p.m. if they can't make the earlier time. Everyone is welcome to attend our Tuesday night meditations. We ask that you please enter or exit during a chant or reading so as not to disturb others.
On Saturday, December 9, we will have our Christmas fellowship for adults and teens, starting at 5:30 pm with meditation, and followed at 6:00 pm with a potluck supper, entertainment, caroling, and a visit from Santa. There will be a gift exchange – please bring a simple gift in the five to ten dollar range; women, bring a gift for a woman; men, bring a gift for a man. Please ensure that the gifts are clearly marked. For those of you who would like to bring food for the potluck supper, we have a sign-up sheet available in the dining room where you can see and sign up for the planned menu items.
Please note that there will be no Study Group or Inspirational and Prayer service on Thursday, Dec. 14.
On Saturday, December 16, we will have our All-Day Christmas Meditation, from 10:00 am to 5:30 pm. Please bring a fruit as a devotional offering, and a donation in a white envelope may be offered. For guidance on preparing for this service, please see the informational sheet Instructions for Devotees, available in the foyer.
The children’s Christmas Party will be held on Sunday, December 17, and there will be a short gathering after the readings service featuring caroling with the Sunday school and Teen Group classes, accompanied by a visit from Santa Claus.
